PIRO Project American Samoa
 

American Samoa Sea Turtle Project is enhancing local knowledge and protection of hawksbill sea turtles on nesting beaches. Habitat restoration efforts at Tula Village include vegetative barriers between the beach and road to prevent traffic accidents with nesting turtles.
 
Olosega Village Small Scale Longline Fishery Project is developing a new fishery program that benefits the local village and Samoan communities in the Manu'a islands. Community participants are harvesting the fishery resources around the 50 miles area closure.
